LOL It’s a moving target. Before you find it and post it they’re out. They can’t seem to keep up with demand. I guess for them that’s a good thing.

Its hard to understand how this happens.

New releases of RPi always seem to be in short supply for months and months.

You would think that after this had happen once or twice they would partner with a manufacturer who could scale up production if required.

I think they are focusing all of the manufacturing into the pi3 and they will produce the pi zeros when there is space. they also produce it in much smaller panels than the regular pi’s.
think they said it in a interview of the pi 3 release

One of the members at the local makerspace, has a script that pings Adafruit checking for availability. This running on a RPi of course.

I suspect that any form of manual clicking on the site has no chance against the bots.

In the Make: Interview Eden said, IIRC, they manufacture the pi zero if there is any manufacturing capacity available, which currently isnt true because of the, well, pi3. Guess its so cheap because they squeeze the boards into the production line when there is a bit space so they dont really have to add much to the cost in that regard. It seems that its much more of a space filler than a real high quantity board

Though my #2 Zero is in the mail, I do suppose that availability from UK distributors is better than the sole US distributor. In prior RPi runs, they had 4 or so distributors for the US.

8 million RPi (all models). Wow.
