And I cant get usb serial to work at all…
After several attempts i did manage to get the DFU driver to install and I can program the mini (as long as i hit the reset button just before upload starts)
But there is no com port shown, and serial monitor wont connect to anything.
On rare occasions a com port might appear, but will quickly disappear as well.
I installed the Maple serial via the INF, (i did try the batch file before on the dfu installer)
What am i doing wrong?
If you have an unidentified USB device, then the serial driver is not installed correctly.
Which OS? Which IDE? Versions?
Which upload method?
Have you tried the simple blinky sketch with serial output?
Nope, no driver not isntalled errors… Maple DFU shows under libusb-win32 devices in the device manager
The serial port does show on first boot after upload. But if i reset the maple after it returns to maple dfu and the com port disappears.
The bootloader was changed lately to keep in DFU mode when BOOT1 is tied to 3.3V. So BOOT1 may not even float.
Don’t let it float, it must be connected to GND, directly or via a resistor.
I think this was the main reason I mostly avoid using this board, because it has this restriction.
Although one could flash a special bootloader version with activated pull-down resistor on PB2, which would avoid the extra connection.
But windows 10 doing something funky with USB ports…. I tried a different port and it works perfectly… Ive had this happen before with a blue tooth dongle, where it would stop pairing or seeing any other devices…
Sorry to have given you the run around
