Hello dear friends :)

After seeing the project of Roger with a camera OV7670 / Stm32 / Tft
viewtopic.php?t=4
this share my inspiration for a large vehicle surveillance project.

First of all a great respect and thank you to  ☆ Roger ☆ for the sharing of this project.
I am considering a similar project with transmitter and receiver to monitor my vehicle at a distance.

Let me explain, i would like to use as a transmitter a STM32F103 with SD card module (recording) + OV7670 camera without FIFO and PIR motion sensor or Ultrasonic distance sensor HC SR-04 and a wireless communication module for sending data. images with a range of a few meters.

I can not determine the ideal module for lack of experience. On the other side the receiver, always a STM32F103 + TFT screen 2.4 + the video receiver according to your advice (wifi, bluetooth, gps …) and some buttons to activate the camera or change mode (view live or in mode surveillance with recording on SD card if movement to detect).

Finally, the camera in the vehicle (power with external battery) and the receiver module with screen near me to view if necessary).

My questions :?:

Is it possible or i dream?
If this project is feasible, which sensor would be better adapted in a vehicle, PIR or Ultrasound or other …?
And for the transceiver, which module would be the most suitable? I’m sorry to mess with my adventure but being an amateur i really need your valuable advice.

Thanks in advance, cordially.

I build the example, the image resolution is low.

An old Android phone can do it better.

Thank you very much zoomx :)

Having not done research on Android  i was not aware of such a possibility.
Effectively it would save me a lot of time and money.
Great :!: i will search and share my finds that may be useful for other friends.
Thanks again ☆ zoomx ☆ for your speed and your amitier,

i wish you happiness. :)

The Android phone solution is probably going to serve your purposes best. There are a number of apps that might suit.
You might also like to look at CHDK which can do motion detection on Canon point and shoot cameras. I have used it for capturing wild birds building a nest and sunrises and sunsets.

Thank you very much dear Andy for your sharing :)

It is a very interesting application open source, unfortunately i do not have Canon cameras but if i find occasion it would interest me.

Otherwise i find useful applications, the only problem is confidentiality, although my project is only to film the interior of the vehicle to see the outside, the permissions granted are many, camera, microphone, files / photos… short here are the applications i would like to try in order to find the one most suitable for my project.

( Manything )This application detects movements and sounds, We can view the live you have recorded on the camera from the application in your mobile or from the web.

( Alfred ) We need a Google account and need to open it on both devices and we can review all records for almost 2 weeks

( Sailent Eye ) Another application that detects movement and notifies by SMS or mail, it also activates an alarm that announces a detected intruder.

( Cawice ) works in Peer2peer which guarantees the confidentiality of the video stream, free and unlimited streaming in HD.

( DVR.Webcam ) We can save the recordings and set up to automatically save to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or iCoud so you can view them.

( AtHome Camera ) This application has a motion detection, allows to define the periods in which we want to start or finish the recording and alarm in case of perception of movements.
Here, i have to find the most suitable.

Thank you again for your advice and help, respect for Zoomx and Andy.

I bought Canon cameras for this reason, I used them in cheap astronomical photos using a cheap telescope and a simple script that I wrote to avoid vibration, get the correct exposition and focus.

Thanks for the app review!

Very nice :)

Thank you very much for ☆ zoomx ☆ and ☆ Andy ☆

I find a Canon Powershot A480 camera with memory card, i will contact the seller for a possible purchase, now i must read the site “CHDK” to understand the operation.

Thank you very much.

Take care that not all Canon cameras support CHDK! Check the site!

The A480 should be supported -> http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/A480
The list of supported cameras is here -> http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK

If you enjoy fixing stuff, then you might like to know I bought several Canon cameras which were sold as “spares or repair”, since they can be had for a couple of quid.

Most were relatively easy to fix, but beware of any that have obvious damage to the lens assembly as this is tricky to repair.

applications – you might want to look at something called motion, has some nice features.
https://github.com/Motion-Project/motion
you might well be able to just transmit the differences in the images.
it is a linux app, but is open so code might be of interest

I thank you everyone for your help and your kindness :)

Thank you dear Zoomx for informing me for the compatibility

Thank you dear Andy for your precisions and advice. I expect a response from the seller, the selling price is 10 € (+/- 12 $) the device looks clean and can use for his age.

Thank you dear zmemw16, during my research i often saw projects with Raspberry Pi and webcam … it was quite cool and simple as a project but unfortunately i do not have a Raspberry (on my next wish list)

Motion project is well complete it prevents if a movement is detect. As i own Linux (Kubuntu) it interests me eventually. Thank you very much for sharing.

I love you all, you are fabulous people,
My respects for ☆ zoomx ☆ Andy ☆zmemw16.

I made a trip to a seller of used products is to fall on this webcam camera with rotation motor, motion detector …

The model is a SmileCam SU-320 with double USB connection cable and Serie DB9. After disassembling the machine i discover a chip 80C52, the camera has a chip OV511 (driver available under linux).

I am amateur to know by where to start to know if there is a possibility of the controller to have the images on a TFT or Android mobile …? Your advice and opinion interests me a lot, i am currently looking to understand how to do it. All information or track research are welcome, thank you in advance.

Thank you very much dear Stephen :)

I did not have the same result by looking in French :) there is a lot of useful information, i will read to understand. Unfortunately the person for the camera Canon A420 is not available at the moment so i have to wait for his return.

I will read the “Motion Guide” and see what I can do, very nice Stephen, i am not well understood the end of your message because of the translator, i’m sorry for that.

Thanks again for sharing and your help.

Hello :)

Finally after seeing the Canon A420 in bad condition (not like the photos of the ad) and not finding a project similar to what i wanted, i buy a camera “Dashcam 1080P” with monitor .

Buy 15eur in France and sold for 8 dollard at Aliex .. the camera can film continuously, has a motion sensor (not very good), night vision (with a mini flash), G sensor (2G 4G 6G 8G) .. ., with a pretty bad battery (5 minutes max). I will change the battery to put a more powerful.

Thank you for everyone who helped, their advice and advice,

Thank you for your support.

Dashcams usually have a small battery because they turn on when car turn on and use car battery. Some of them can stay on when engine is off.

Thank you dear zoomx,

I found a PIR sensor with laser for parking at a reseller of used products, after opening the box i see that the laser is activated after the detection, i remove the laser and add a buzzer alarm, it worked well. I wonder if it would be possible to do this little editing using the Dashcam.

Image

Let me explain, the output voltage of the PIR module is 4.7 V, the voltage input of the camera is 5V, the goal is to power the Dashcam in case of movement capture by the PIR ?

If yes, how ?

Image

Here is the inside, the main chip is CS9803GP (infrared detection chip pyroelectric), on the left of the picture the 2 red wires are 9V input, 1x power supply and 1x battery power, the 2 black GND, to the center the red and black are the outputs (4.73V)

https://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet- … 803GP.html

The Dashcam camera

For the Dashcam it’s more complicated, in fact i can not find anything about its microcontroller, all i know is that it has a memory chip (25D16BTIG) that it works with 5V according to the setting and can record directly after being turned on. Desolate for the bad quality of the images.

Sorry to bother you with my adventures and thanks in advance.

I did tests :geek: i simply use a USB module to fix the Positive and Negative PIR and attach the other end to the mini USB port of the Dashcam. :)
After powering the PIR with a 9V battery the camera has to work directly, only after cut and capture the PIR, the camera is set to charge the small internal battery instead of starting to record a video

It must have a Direct connection, i think to remove the battery and try to mount the + and Gnd PIR directly on the PCB Dashcam.
I saw some examples on the internet but unfortunately it was not the same material. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome, i will keep you informed of the results, cordially

here, i remove the battery to try directly with the power outlets of the PIR, it does not happen, it does not work,
if i plug the usb is the same, only when i reinstall the battery of Origin all works :)

I think the PCB needs an external battery or can be soldered + and – battery pins on the mini USB?
It’s a very small battery of 4V :) continue the adventure to see where it will lead me,

Cordially.
