Another Alwinner based Pi like SOC board.

Interesting !!!
It should even be price competitive against OrangePi-One …

Looks like its only really intended to be used as a camera input device.

Yes, it is even named ArduCAM …

It lacks the connector for small TFT LCD panels. Maybe it is not important as in the RaspberryPi but without it you can’t build portable cameras, a possible use for this board.
Edit: the main site is here

I wouldn’t wonder when these tiny boards would have problem with power dissipation…
Even with 5W (5V 1A) consumption they would be pretty hot.

I’m pretty certain the SOC will be capable of driving HDMI, so a micro HDMI connector would be more appropriate for most uses I can think of, having said that a lot of small monitors do still have composite inputs, they are getting pretty rare on larger monitors and TVs though.

There is a post in hackaday blog.
The interesting thing is that maybe this board will be never produced if Broadcom will refuse to sell the chip as it did with the Odroid-W
It must be noted that this board is not for sale yet, and if Broadcom takes offense to the project, it may never be. That’s exactly what happened with the ODROID-W, and if ArduCAM can’t secure a supply of chips from Broadcom, this project will never see the light of day.
